Babe Russin - tenor sax

Artie Miller - string bass
Gene Krupa - drums
I am sometimes amazed at how young these musicians were in 1930. While Red Nichols was 25 years old in 1930, he was also giving many youthful jazz musicians an opportunity to start their professional careers. Benny Goodman and Gene Krupa were only 21 years old, while
Babe Russin was 19 and Charlie Teagarden was a mere 17 years old. Glenn Miller was the eldest at 26 years old.
This recording was the second master of "Shim-Me-Sha-Wabble" released on Brunswick's Collector Series (80005B). The first master was released as Brunswick 4985. The main differences are in the solos by Goodman, Nichols and Jack Teagarden.
