from their album 'Sunset Jazz' released in 2004, this is the smooth sound of Shakatak, with a truly mesmerizing track and a unique rythm. 'Montecito Nights' represents the core of this band's jazzy music.
Shakatak is a London based band that became successful during the 80's with an infectious blend of soul jazz, house mix, jazz funk, disco and dance music.
Band members include Bill Sharpe (Keyboards), Roger Odell (Drums), George Anderson (Bass) and jazzy vocals by Jill Saward whoelse ;) btw most of their singles only reached the low end of the UK's top 75charts but they did score two top ten hits with 'Night Birds' (1982) and 'Down On The Street' (1984). One of the many highlights was the collaboration with Al Jarreau on the track Day by Day (1984).
Shakatak's legend stays on forever, their unique style and unbelievably sweet tunes can never be duplicated.
